Marie's (my sis) house was our home base for the first nine days of our Houston trip so the cousins could hang out with each other. It was really nice they had the chance to play together and Anne (who turned 9 at beginning on Jan) and Andrew (6- 1/2 yrs old) have so many toys to keep them entertained. They enjoyed their trampoline, playing w/chalk in the back deck, and pretty much roaming around the huge 1 acre plus yard. Not only that but they were also able to watch some of the cartoons they're used to in Saudi like Kipper. Andrew also got into it and he was always letting us know when a new episode came on. And the kiddos loved him for it!
The kids took to their room immidiately. Anne was kind enough to bunk w/Andrew in his room and let our kiddos take her room. They slept in a new place perfectly, it took us 30-40 minutes to put them to bed, more than the usual 5-10 minutes here, but atleast they slept til morning time. Their nap was a hit or miss, most of the time they slept in the car on the way to some place.
My mom and bro, Matthew would come and visit every chance they could. At night, after we had some decent sleep, Dan and I were able to do some Christmas shopping. I think we even saw a movie one night, Little Fockers. Now looking back, we should have gone out at night more since we were not able to do that once we moved to Dan's parents house (will blog about that later).
Pictures while staying at the Mickelsons:
(I was too busy enjoying the moments and didn't bust out my camera much and some of these are from my mom)
