Babies stay in NICU (08.22.08-09.10.08)

All babies started in Level 3 NICU and in the isolettes on Friday night. By the next night, the boys were moved to level 2. Skyler remained in Level 3 because she had the cpap. Skyler was off cpap and IV on Tuesday, 8/26 and finally joined her brothers the next day. Tobin was also off his IV and he and Hudson ate just under 1 oz. on Tuesday. On Friday, 8/29, a week after her birth, the nurses removed Skyler's nasal tubes. The next day, both Skyler and Tobin were moved to an open crib. All babies stayed there until they were able to feed from the bottles for all of their (8) feedings and not depend on the feeding tubes, could regulate their body temperature, and until the neo taught they could go home. Hudson was moved to an open crib and took all of his feedings by bottles on Monday, 9/8. All babies had their hepatitis shots and pass their car seat test before coming home. The boys also had their circ done too.

Tobin came home Friday, 9/5 @ 4 lb 8 oz.

Skyler came home Monday, 9/8 @ 5 lb 8 oz.

Hudson came home Wednesday, 9/10 @ 4 lb. 2 oz. (a couple days before Hurricane Ike hit)

Visitors besides families included: Sherry K. (8/24), Jill H. (8/25) and Heather A. (8/28)

Their overall stay at Texas Childrens NICU was a little less than 3 weeks. They had some of the best nurses who took really great care of them. We are so thankful for that!
