a 6yr old Jedi bday party

We took the kids to Keaton's 6th bday bash on Saturday. Keaton is Liz and Bryan's son, one of our oldest couple friend. The theme was Star Wars, Jedi in training. We loaded everyone up after their nap and headed straight over to their new home in Sugar Land. We feed them their snacks there and let them run around. Since the party was geared for "bigger" kids, there were really no activities for them...which means we were really tired from chasing after them. Dan and I barely got to mingle w/folks, but it's OK, the kids had a great time!
The best thing about being out w/Dan and the kids is the way we communicate w/each other about who's watching which kid. We have a really good system...basically we split up and go after the kid or kids that's going a certain direction. Luckily for us it's usually a kid by him/her self and then two are together. There were a few times all three went different directions, but I usually just pick one up and get atleast two of them in the same area. "I'm going in (the house)", "I'm going out (the house)" were what we would say to each other. Some of our friends thought we were pretty good at rounding up the kids.
They had cake too, vanilla, Hudson didn't seem to enjoy it as much as last week's chocolate cake, but I didn't see him not eating it. :-)
We were wiped out by the evening, considering it was bath night and all. It was really nice to be able to finally take the kids to bday parties.
Daddy and Skyler
Skyler and her "lightsaber" (bubble wand).

Skyler and Madison (our friend Christina's 4 yr old kid)

Skyler loved getting all dirty and laying down on their deck. At one point she even pulled her skirt down.

Tobin & Hudson w/their lightsabers.

Madison w/the kids.

Tobin w/his lightsaber.

Skyler couldn't get enough of this dog. She kept chasing after her to give her a hug. Poor dog, prolly never had this much kids around her. Not sure what Tobin's doing.

my boys

They all loved to get behind this A/C and play w/the wires...not good, we blocked it the best we could w/the stroller.

Hudson w/his lightsaber.

Hudson was so fixated on picking up little seeds on the deck and giving them to me.
